California Resident Privacy Notice

This California Resident Privacy Notice supplements the CoHear Privacy Policy. It applies to individuals residing in California from whom 科創互聯科技有限公司 (TechCreate Connect Limited, “CoHear,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects Personal Information in connection with the CoHear mobile application (the “App”). This Notice is intended to describe our disclosures under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”).

This Notice does not apply to information that is publicly available from government records, deidentified or aggregated information, or information otherwise excluded from the CCPA. Defined terms not explained here have the meanings given in our Privacy Policy.

1. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

The following table describes the categories of Personal Information we may have collected during the preceding twelve months, the purposes for which we use them, and whether we disclose or sell them. We do not sell Personal Information and do not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not collect characteristics of protected classifications, precise geolocation, non-public education records, or sensitive personal information for purposes unrelated to providing the App features you request. Where you authorize location access, precise geolocation may be processed to provide a more accurate location-related service or service experience. We do not use recordings, transcriptions, summaries, imported materials, or generated deliverables to train general-purpose or CoHear models, and we do not provide them to data-labeling providers for training or evaluation datasets.

2. Sources of Personal Information

We collect Personal Information from:

You and your device when you create an account, use the App, record audio, import materials, or request generation features;
Service providers that support authentication, speech recognition, AI generation, cloud storage, notifications, analytics, and attribution; and
Other participants whose information may be included in content that you record or upload. Before recording or uploading, you are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consent required by applicable law.

3. Retention and Deletion

We retain Personal Information for as long as needed to provide the App, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Audio, transcriptions, summaries, generated deliverables, and related speaker labels are stored with your account unless you delete them or cancel your account. Deleted audio and deliverables may first be retained in a recycle bin for a limited period, by default 30 days. Personal voiceprints or voice-related identifiers may be disabled or cleared through the App. Subject to legal, backup, and technical exceptions, we take reasonable measures to make deleted Personal Information unavailable for ordinary use.

4. California Privacy Rights

Subject to the CCPA and its exceptions, California residents may have the following rights:

Right to Know or Access: Request the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we collected, the sources, purposes, and categories of recipients, including for the preceding twelve months.
Right to Delete: Request deletion of Personal Information we collected from you, subject to exceptions.
Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell Personal Information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out is required for those activities.
Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: We use sensitive information, including voice recordings, any enabled personal voiceprint, and precise geolocation where you authorize location access, only as reasonably necessary to provide requested App features, maintain security, and comply with law. We do not use it for purposes that require a separate limitation choice under the CCPA.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
Right to Correct or Delete AI Memory: You may disable or clear your personal voiceprint or voice-related identifier and edit or delete personal vocabulary through the App, where those controls are available.

5. How to Submit a Request

To submit a California privacy request, contact us at ai@cohear.work and identify yourself as a California resident. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will only use Personal Information provided for verification to verify the request and for security and fraud-prevention purposes.

You may submit a request yourself or through an authorized agent. An authorized agent must provide proof that you gave the agent signed permission to submit the request. We may also require you to verify your identity directly.

We generally respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law. If we deny a request, we will explain the basis for the denial and, where required, provide an appeal process. To appeal, reply to our decision or contact ai@cohear.work with “California Privacy Appeal” in the subject line.
